UM-Dearbornís College of Education, Health, and Human Services (CEHHS, formerly the School of Education) provides exemplary preparation and continuing education for PK-12 teachers and administrators. The school offers programs leading to initial teacher certification at the bachelorís and masterís levels and opportunities for professional development and advancement through degrees at the masterís, education specialist and doctoral levels.
CEHHS offers programs in many important areas including early childhood education, educational leadership, educational technology, special education, and the teaching of many school subjects. Students have opportunities to test theories of teaching and learning in action and to hone their own skills as they engage with education professionals and children in area school districts and at the highly regarded Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC).
